2nd London Fraud Forum Annual Conference |
|
The second annual conference of The London Fraud Forum will take place on Wednesday 1st October 2008 at The Barbican Centre, London
The on-line booking form can be found by following this link.
The Chair of the forum, Alan day would like to invite you to the second annual conference of the London Fraud Forum.
Since our launch last year there has been no shortage of headlines about the level of fraud in the UK:
“Detected fraud soars to record £140m” – the Audit Commission reveals a 26% increase in fraudulent claims and overpayments in the public sector;
“Fraud hits 12 year high in 2007” – KPMG Forensic’s Fraud Barometer shows over £1bn of fraud coming to court in 2007;
“Credit crunch increases fraud fears” – on past evidence, when belts are tightened, more high value frauds tend to be uncovered.
And London and the south east is still where most of the highest value frauds are committed.
The objective of the London Fraud Forum therefore remains just as important: to bring together businesses and organisations from both the public and private sectors to combine forces to tackle the fraud threat head on, by actively sharing knowledge, ideas and experiences.
For our second annual conference we have put together a programme that focuses on many of the key issues currently facing all practitioners from across the whole spectrum of the anti-fraud community, providing important updates on the legislation, practical tips on how to lower the risk of your organisation being hit by fraud, and examining the latest developments and trends in areas such as boiler room fraud.
We have again brought together a panel of expert speakers for the conference, who will share with you their insights into current and future trends in many different types of fraud, how your business or organisation can be affected on a day-to-day basis – and what you can do about it.
Last year’s event was extremely well received:
“Excellent value for money and very informative.” “An excellent start to the London Fraud Forum.”
Our second annual conference is an ideal opportunity for existing London Fraud Forum members to meet and network with fellow anti-fraud practitioners who you may have met at previous events, but it also provides a very useful introduction for new members to the work of the organisation and the benefits of joining. The conference delegate fee of only £120 + VAT includes a year’s membership of the organisation – so represents amazingly good value!
We very much hope you will to want to join your fellow anti-fraud professionals from the London region and outside, to ensure that we continue to combine all our efforts in strengthening the fight against financial crime. I look forward to meeting you at the conference, and during the course of the coming year.
