Conference Overview

London Fraud Forum 11th Annual Conference

Date: Thursday 12th October 2017
Venue: One Great George Street, London SW1

I am delighted to invite you to the 11th anniversary conference of the LONDONFRAUDFORUM.

Once again our annual conference has a programme of excellent speakers, covering the latest topics and sharing their insights with you to help you in your day-to-day job of combating fraud.

We are delighted to welcome Ian Foxley. formerly of GPT Special Project Management, who blew the whistle on the bribery and corruption involved in a £2bn defence deal with Saudi Arabia.  Ian's talk - the whistleblower's story - is compelling:  "the best presentation I have ever heard.  You could have heard a pin drop in the room."

We also have a valuable and important update from  Commissioner Ian Dyson of the City of London Police, and an outline from John Unsworth of the work of the London Digital Security Centre.

Another of our speakers this year is Mark Moir, of Mackinnon Advocates in Glasgow.  Among the cases on which Mark has acted for the defence is that of Edwin McLaren, who was sentenced earlier this year to 11 years for a £1.6m property fraud scheme, following what is believed to have been the longest criminal trial in UK legal history.

Plus, of course, our popular interactive breakout sessions - this year offering you the choice between discussions on effective fraud investigation in the digital era, the Dark Web, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Know Your Customer (KYC).

Our conference is always extremely popular as it is an ideal opportunity for both existing  LONDONFRAUDFORUM members and those new to the organisation to meet and network with fellow anti-fraud practitioners.  So please do not delay in applying for a place.  The conference delegate fee of only £175 + VAT includes a year’s membership of the organisation - so continues to represent amazingly good value!

We very much hope you will to want to join your fellow anti-fraud professionals from the London and South East region and beyond, to ensure that we continue to combine all our efforts in strengthening the fight against financial crime.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference.
