LFF Annual Conference 2023

The LONDON FRAUD FORUM 17th ANNUAL CONFERENCE will take place at the prestigious Guildhall, London on Thursday, 19th October 2023. This year's conference promises to be an exceptional gathering, featuring an impressive line-up of keynote speakers and thought-provoking panel discussions.

Distinguished keynote speakers include The Rt Hon the Baroness Morgan of Cotes, Nicky Morgan, a former Conservative MP and Minister, who will explore whether the Government has done enough to break the fraud chain? Angela McLaren, Commissioner for City of London Police, the UK's lead force for fraud, will provide insights into policing in modern times – threats, ongoing activities and challenges. Furthermore, Louise Baxter MBE FCTSP, Head of the National Trading Standards Scams Team and Dr Elisabeth Carter a criminologist and forensic linguist, will discuss the striking similarities between coercion and control in financial abuse and domestic abuse on victims.

The conference agenda also includes three panel discussions. The first, moderated by Ruth Evans, Chair of Stop Scams UK, with panellists, Nick Perkins from Natwest, Tim Piggott of Nationwide and Kathryn Westmore of RUSI will explore how banks and big tech can collaborate to stop scams in their systems. The second panel will focus on educating and protecting children against financial harms, (specifically fraud), with panellists Vicki Shotbolt, CEO of ParentZone, Tracey Gallagher Carpenter PGCert, Insider Threat Manager at Cifas, Jonathan Baggaley, Chief Executive of the PSHE Association and Dr David Zendle, Behavioural Data Scientist and Technology Effects Expert at University of York. Our second panel will delve into the crucial topic of gender equality and inclusion within the counter fraud profession and will be moderated by Phoebe W., Chair of the The Female Fraud Forum.

The conference talks will culminate as always with an intriguing case study highlighting the successful conclusion of a major fraud case. Attendees will have lots of opportunities to meet exhibitors offering the latest counter fraud solutions and services, and to network with industry peers and industry leaders throughout the day.
