London Fraud Forum 2024 Annual Conference

Join the London Fraud Forum for our 18th annual conference, in partnership with the National Trading Standards Scams Team.

This year's conference promises to be an exceptional gathering, featuring an impressive line-up of keynote speakers and thought-provoking panel discussions. Distinguished speakers already confirmed for the event include:

  • Keynote speaker: Peter O’Doherty, Commissioner for the City of London Police.

  • Nick Downing, Economic Crime Specialist for Deloitte.

  • Claire Maillet, multi-award-winning counter-fraud expert, and disability inclusion activist.

  • Arun Chauhan, specialist fraud disputes and financial crime compliance lawyer, and a Trustee Director for the Fraud Advisory Panel.

  • Dr Tim Day, who completed a doctoral thesis that examined police records of rogue trading incidents and is a CTSI Joint Lead Officer for Doorstep Crime.

Furthermore, Cifas will be leading a panel discussion on their role in combatting fraud and Dr Elisabeth Carter, Criminologist and Forensic Linguist, will be chairing a panel discussion with Louise Baxter MBE, Head of the National Trading Standards Scams Team.

Attendees will have numerous opportunities to network and socialise with industry experts and professionals. Since its inception in 2007, the London Fraud Forum Annual Conference has gained in popularity, becoming an essential event for counter fraud professionals across all sectors and industries. Each year, the conference attracts over 200 delegates, facilitating networking and fostering collaboration to prevent and protect organisations from an ever growing and evolving fraud threat.

This is a ticketed event, tickets are priced at £175 + VAT and all delegates to the conference will be granted 12-month membership to the London Fraud Forum. Members gain exclusive access to an array of valuable resources, including webinars, podcasts, breakfast seminars, fraud news, and a robust network of counter fraud professionals. A CPD certificate will be sent out after the event.

The LONDON FRAUD FORUM 17th ANNUAL CONFERENCE will take place at the prestigious Guildhall, London on Thursday, 19th October 2023. This year's conference promises to be an exceptional gathering, featuring an impressive line-up of keynote speakers and thought-provoking panel discussions.

Distinguished keynote speakers already confirmed include The Rt Hon the Baroness Morgan of Cotes, Nicky Morgan, a former Conservative MP and Minister, who will explore whether the Government has done enough to break the fraud chain? Angela McLaren, Commissioner for City of London Police, the UK's lead force for fraud, will provide insights into policing in modern times – threats, ongoing activities and challenges. Furthermore, Louise Baxter MBE FCTSP, Head of the National Trading Standards Scams Team and Dr Elisabeth Carter a criminologist and forensic linguist, will discuss the striking similarities between coercion and control in financial abuse and domestic abuse on victims.

The conference agenda also includes two panel discussions. The first will focus on educating and protecting children against financial harms, (specifically fraud), with panellists Vicki Shotbolt, CEO of ParentZone, Tracey Gallagher Carpenter PGCert, Insider Threat Manager at Cifas, Jonathan Baggaley, Chief Executive of the PSHE Association and Dr David Zendle, Behavioural Data Scientist and Technology Effects Expert at University of York. Our second panel will delve into the crucial topic of gender equality and inclusion within the counter fraud profession and will be moderated by Phoebe W., Chair of the The Female Fraud Forum.

The conference talks will culminate as always with an intriguing case study highlighting the successful conclusion of a major fraud case. Attendees will have lots of opportunities to meet exhibitors offering the latest counter fraud solutions and services, and to network with industry peers and industry leaders throughout the day.
